The Festival of Light begins!
The sky darkens as you and the other villagers head out to the forest clearing right off of Settlement One. But what was only a walk turns to a brisk stride as the forest is bright with a luminous array. Four words entered your mind: The festive was on.
Once you and the other settlers arrive at the festival site, you are greeted by a vast number of familiar faces. You also see Brandhardt and Azaz talking happily with Callie, and Kouren over by the food stand. Most definitely the annual Festival of Light had gone off without a hitch, but you are surprised about the seemingly absent story-teller, Dion. Usually the festival was something he looked forward to each year, as it gave him an excuse to entertain the new-comers with fascinating stories of the great Skyra.
But, your thoughts were ceased when you realize that he is in fact at the festival! You see him speaking to a group of villagers - children that loved to hear his stories, even if they were repeated each year. Dion was in his story telling mode, by the look of his enthusiastic hand gestures.
The event has grown steadily with each year, you note, as there are a few new activities to play and stands to purchase a new stock of festival merchandise. But what caught your curiosity was that Professor Ng was not present. She was probably standing in her lab, trying to find some sort of connection with that Harenian tablet...
And that's when you remember: Dion might know something about the contents of the tablet, as he seemed to know pretty much everything else about Cruithne's past! You run up to him, and ask.
The question seemed to catch him off guard. He focused on the star dust that seemed to flow majestically around his fingertips. Without looking from the stardust, he muttered: "What I was told was true, then. The search has already begun..." And with the straightening of his hand, the once lively star dust fell to the cold dirt. Dion lifted his stare to your face.
"That, my friend," he whispered, "is an ancient story that, like before, will bring only destruction to this asteroid." He then turned his back to you, and disappeared in the crowd. The mystical stardust was blown away with the next gust of wind.
His final remark lingered in your mind for the rest of the night. Dion did not seem like the type to scare easily, but the look on his eyes when he walked away seemed grim and unsettling. It was as if he had bestowed upon you a warning, and as soon as the festival concluded, you decided, Professor Ng would hear all about it.
In the meantime...
The Festival of Light is here ! The area has been reopened to the public for the remainder of the celebration. Take advantage of this lovely event to pick up some of the new items and play the new game!
