All good things...
...must come to an end.
The Festival of Light has now come to a close! Dion's going to miss you, but we hope you all had fun and that we will see you enjoying the festival again next year!
Updates for Aug 21st, 2015:
A light in the darkness
The Festival of Lights is a long-held tradition among the native population and is a magic-filled celebration thrown during the time of darkness. It's meant to invigorate the guardian of Cruithne and push away the darkness. The festival offers candle and lantern-making, a bonfire, and a dance to help light up the sky in the season of Darklight.
The bonfire is of monumental size, rumored to light up the entire sky in the night. Dancers clad in masks and flowing robes dance along the fireside with large spectacular paper dragons, performing an ancient dance to lift the guardian’s spirits and bring back the sun.
With the newly-opened festival grounds comes the reopening of the egg Incubator as well as the discovery of some fascinating new creatures for you and your pets to adopt. How fitting that they all seem to provide their own light in these dark times. Even the fishing pond has some new fishy friends for you to find!
Head on over to the Festival grounds near Settlement One, right over here! Dion will be happy to see you and help you on your way.
Updates for Aug 7th, 2015:
Intensity of Magma
Ambivalent outdid herself today with the discovery of a very, very hot Albie! The Blazing Albie seems to have decided upon a rather new, slightly intimidating look for itself. It looks like it may have crawled out from the depths of a volcano!
With the help of a Blazing Ribbon, your pet can be just as intense!
Updates for Aug 6th, 2015:
To Mars!
On August 6th, 2012, the Mars Rover, Curiosity, made its successful landing in Yellowknife in the Gale Crater on the surface of the planet Mars with the mission to help determine whether Mars could have ever supported life.
We celebrated this momentous occasion 3 years ago with cookies, and today we'd like to celebrate the anniversary of Curiosity's landing!
What better way to celebrate than to send some help Curiosity's way! Perhaps signs of life are easier found by something that's also alive! Curiosity, we hope you'll find something great with the help of your own Curious Rover!
You can adopt your Curious Rover at the Luna Adoption Agency; we're sure it will love to explore Cruithne with you.
Staff Changes
For reasons of her own, lavenderblue has decided to step down from staff here on Daylightpets. In her wake, our management becomes Falcon as the Owner of Daylight, Ambivalent as Lead Artist and Event Coordinator, Hyacinth as Assistant Lead Artist and Event Coordinator, and Shadowmage as Programmer.
Our artist becomes lettuce; our writer becomes Kodi; and Matt is our moderator. Each of these users works hard.
We hope you continue to enjoy DLP.

Have You Left Room?
There is a new super-sweet treat left for you in rations! Might want to grab it while it's there!
Updates for Jul 30th, 2015:
Bouncing Baby Blue's
Ng and Ambivalent each went on a trip recently. Ambivalent went on a walk near the original Albie discovery site -- and stumbled upon an egg! Albie normally hide their eggs well, so it was no surprise that the babies were not discovered right away. What was a surprise? The egg was hatching! Ambivalent got to stay and watch at the baby Albie cracked the shell and poked it's head out for the first time.
Ng, on the other hand, was still doing research on the Plakad species she had found. It seems like they congregate together every so often to have lay their own eggs! The eggs are so well-camouflaged that they are near impossible to spot! Instead, near the shore, seemingly where watery predators could not hunt them, Ng found a slew of bubbly babies darting around beneath the surface. Needless to say, Ng was delighted and had to share the information with everyone.
Updates for Jul 27th, 2015:
Baked Goods
Hyacinth visited a certain organic food shop and found that Alethea has baked up some very tasty, and very healthy bread! Since it'll be sold by the loaf, you get to do whatever you please with it.
The Slick season seems to have brought about the discovery of a new rations item.
Head over to the rations to find a new chilly blade to help you in battle.
Updates for Jul 24th, 2015:
Of Bunnies and Beatles
A flash of white entices your eyes. There goes a Hanix! Wait, is it chasing an Artica Beetle? Looks like these two lunas are back from what seems to have been hibernation. They have so much energy now -- they are ready to play! Good luck getting a hold of these beautiful creatures.
Better catch them quickly! The Slick season is drawing to a close very soon!
The Flag Still Waves
As the parades melt away, and the sound of fireworks fades... We say goodbye to the items from the Fourth. We hope our American players were safe, and had a blast.
